![]() ![]() Closing the game down and reloading fixed this issue sharply, though. While there hasn’t been an onslaught of issues, I did find upon completing one of the first tasks, the survival book wouldn’t close, which meant I couldn’t progress. With the controller configuration mentioned above, the left stick moves the entire screen anyway, so the edge panning feature becomes more of an annoyance than anything else. By turning this off, you won’t accidentally move the entire world while trying to access the edge of the screen. One setting I would recommend changing is “enable edge panning.” With this on, when the mouse cursor reaches the edge of the screen, the whole screen moves with it. If you’re after even smoother performance you could switch the resolution to 1152 by 720 and then use FSR to upscale the image, but I don’t think that’s necessary. Thankfully, you don’t really need to mess with anything. You’ve got the screen resolution, whether it’s full screen or not, and the choice to turn vsync on and off. There is an issue with the default controls not working well, but that’s easily fixed by changing the controller configuration to a community layout (I’ve uploaded a RetroResolve controller layout, which is the one I’ve been using and it works great). I’ve been running the game at 720p on my TV with FSR on and set to five and it looks just as good as it does on PC as far as I’m concerned. ![]() Visually, everything pops and looks lovely on the Steam Deck’s 800p screen or when the Deck is docked. I’d even go as far as saying you’ll likely never spot them unless you have the Steam Deck performance overlay enabled. But what’s interesting is that because Terra Nil is an isometric viewpoint, frame drops are rarely ever felt. You can expect frame drops in the range of 30 to 60 with 40 being the average. Have more tips in mind? Let us know in the comments below.Although Terra Nil comes with an “unknown” grading from Valve, it can be played on the Steam Deck with a few tweaks. ![]() In the last region, you can build the Undersea Dredger, which you can move using the Monorail Node to expand its range. Move Buildings Using Monorail Node: Once you have the Monorail Node, you can move the drone and some buildings, allowing you to recycle buildings efficiently. It’s essential because its effective range changes shapes. Rotate Irrigator for Maximum Benefits: Most buildings cannot be rotated, but you can rotate the Irrigator.Use it in closed spaces restricted by high places and water or before creating proper habitats. Be Careful with Solar Amplifiers: The solar amplifier building can start a fire that will spread everywhere. Some tasks require low temperatures, while others require high temperatures. Follow a Specific Order for Optional Goals: Read all the requirements in the Optional Goals tab and figure out an order. The last optional goal gives you a powerful weather condition that is beneficial and cleans all tiles. Complete Optional Goals: Although you can finish the game without completing optional goals, it’s highly recommended to complete them.Read their descriptions to get hints on where to place them. Read Animal Descriptions: When reintroducing animals to the environment, it’s essential to find the proper habitats for them. ![]() Their range of influence should not overlap too much, but there should be no gap between them. Keep Toxic Scrubbers at a Safe Distance: Toxic scrubbers are crucial in cleaning the terrain, but it’s important to keep them at a safe distance from each other. However, toxic scrubbers can be partially built beyond your influence zone, making them more efficient. Partially Build Buildings Beyond Your Influence Zone: Some buildings, such as toxic scrubbers, need to be built close to the source of energy. However, you don’t need to reset the entire region. Reset Stages and Redo Last Phase: If you make a mistake that you can’t repair, you can reset the stage.Plan your “roads” to ensure that all buildings are recycled efficiently. In the first map, the drone moves along rivers, but in later maps, you need to build Monorail Nodes on rocks and high places to guide it. Plan Your “Roads” for Recycling Buildings: At the end of each region, you need to recycle all the buildings using a special drone. ![]()
